Front End Engineer

6-month contract Front End Engineer role helping to manage compliance for all websites and mobile applications with a global retail organization  

• 6-month Front End Engineer, (React/next.js) contract role.
• Working with a large engineering team supporting a smaller product team.
• Global retail organization with hybrid work, 3 days a week in office.

As a result of growth and investment in technology our client is looking to add a front-end developer to one of their scrum teams. This team is focused on managing data, accessibility, and regulatory compliance for all of their websites and mobile apps. The team supports the digital organization at its core by ensuring secure and transparent data handling while validating that meaningful and accessible digital experiences are built for all. As a front-end engineer, you will develop and maintain secure, accessible, and compliant digital experiences for our client’s websites and mobile apps. Your work will focus on implementing new features, optimizing existing systems, and addressing technical debt while ensuring data privacy and regulatory compliance. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, contribute to frontend development using React.js and Next.js, and integrate solutions with analytics and consent management platforms like Google Analytics and OneTrust. They are located close to rapid transit in newly renovated offices in downtown Vancouver and have a hybrid work environment with 3 days a week in office.  

You will bring the following education, skills and experience to the role:

• 4+ years developing software solutions in and around cloud-based services and/or service-oriented architectures.
• Extensive expertise in HTML and CSS, with a strong ability to debug, test, and monitor code changes.
• Experience in React.js, Next.js, and/or micro frontends deployed to a cloud environment.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD principles and best practices.
• Ability to learn, understand, and work quickly with new emerging technologies, methodologies, and solutions in the Cloud/IT technology space.
• Experience supporting and maintaining data collection in compliance with privacy legislation such as GDPR and CCPA, would be considered an asset.
• Experience integrating with consent management platforms such as OneTrust would be an asset.
• Experience in integrating with web analytics software such as Google or Adobe Analytics would be an asset.
• Working experience with monorepos would be an asset.

This role pays between $65-80 per hour incorporated.
