Position:
Currently, we are seeking an experienced, energetic and driven Electrical Project Manager/Estimator to join our Industrial Projects division in Burnaby.
The Industrial Project Manager / Estimator performs a wide range of duties.
You are responsible for the original estimate to win the job and once the job has been won you are responsible for project planning, staffing, implementing, billing, controlling, and evaluating each project.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Identify potential business opportunities.
- Maintain good relationship with suppliers, consultants, general contractors, and end users.
- Review contracts for onerous clauses and conditions
- Manage project financial performance, develop project schedules and purchase project materials and equipment.
- Estimate project costs, changes, and submit tenders.
- Be present on the job sites regularly, work with the site supervisor and superintendent to review the project documents and discuss labour requirements and staffing.
- Complete the required paperwork to ensure that the job is billed out and our company is paid.
- Review reports to ensure accuracy and adjust where necessary.
- Arrange for project manuals to be completed.
- Ensure that all deficiencies are dealt with.
- Ensure that as-built drawings are completed and sent to the owner.
- Review the project at completion with the site supervisor and superintendent to discuss successes and challenges.
Experience and Skills:
- An Electrical trade certificate, Electrical Engineering degree or Electrical Technologist diploma/certificate
- Ideally 5+ years' experience in Electrical Project Management and Estimating but may be willing to train the right person
- Experience working on large Industrial projects (projects $1 million in size) as an Electrician or PM
- Previous experience with estimating programs, specifically Accubid (Accubid Pro and Change Order) an asset
- Strong attention to detail
- Good organizational skills
- Good computer skills including MS Office
This is a fulltime position.
Salary is open based on experience.
