Position Summary

Reporting to the Regional Manager, Disability Management, the Disability Management Advisor (DMA) is responsible for the development, implementation, maintenance, and evaluation of the Disability Management program for an assigned area in Northern Health (NH). The DMA provides case management services that encompass assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, monitoring, and evaluating options available to meet an individual's health needs. This includes promoting return to work efforts, early identification of disability claims for coordination of services, and developing modified/alternate work opportunities to mitigate absences due to occupational and non-occupational injury/illness. Along with other members of the WH&S team, ensures integration of services that promote the highest level of physical and mental health for staff.

Starting salary will be approximately from $74,618 to $93,273 and will be based on education, training, experience, and salaries of similar positions.

Qualfications
• Bachelors Degree in a health discipline such as Occupational Health Nursing, Kinesiology, Physiotherapy or Occupational therapy plus five (5) years related experience in a large multi-union environment and/or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Current registration with the appropriate professional body.
• Demonstrated knowledge of disability management principles and practice.

• Working knowledge of program development and implementation and performance measures.
• Ability to analyze and problem solve.

• Ability to work within an environment subject to continuously changing priorities.
• Proficiency in the use of personal computers using a variety of software applications.
