Job Description

Horizon Recruitment Inc. has been engaged on a search for a Corporate Controller for a national financial services firm. This is a newly created position due to a recent merger on ongoing growth within the company. The Corporate Controller will bridge the gap between senior leadership and the accounting team. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulatory requirements, and the efficient management of financial resources. Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and potential areas for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with Canadian accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Streamline and optimize financial processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Lead and mentor the finance team, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and professional development.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience with a minimum of 5 years of management experience.
  • CPA Designation
  • Background in Banking, Investment Funds, or other financial industries considered an asset.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership abilities and experience managing a finance team.

Rewards:

$140,000 - $150,000 Base Salary + Bonus
