Clinical Resource Therapist, Youth Substance Use Treatment

Reporting to the Team Lead, the Clinical Resource Therapist is designated as the clinical expert in the specialized area of youth addictions treatment, and is responsible for program development, mentorship, and teaching, including the coordination, development, and delivery of educational initiatives both locally and regionally. The Clinical Resource Therapist utilizes advanced knowledge and experience to serve as a senior clinician and trainer for the teaching of the Nechako Youth Treatment Centre team that will facilitate positive treatment outcomes for the clients, their families and community supports.

Shift Rotation/Hours of work: Monday to Friday, Days - 08:00 to 16:00

Qualfications
• Master's degree in a related health science discipline from a recognized program such as Social Work, Education or Clinical Counselling.
• Current full registration with relevant professional College and/or association.
• Formal post graduate training in a minimum of 2 key modalities of therapeutic intervention for treatment of the youth substance use treatment population such as Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy.
• Three (3) years of experience providing care to youth in substance use treatment and mental health systems.
• One (1) year of experience delivering workshops, lectures, and presentations to wide variety of health care professionals.
• Travel requires the use of personal vehicle. Valid BC Driver's License.

Skills and Abilities:
• Comprehensive knowledge of youth substance use and treatment.
• Knowledge of best practices in youth substance use treatment and evidence based clinical intervention including Motivational Interviewing, group therapy, interpersonal psychotherapy and cognitive behavioural therapy methods and their appropriate applications.
• Knowledge in telehealth technology at an advanced level to utilize it as a medium in treatment to provide family therapy and groups via this technology as well as education.
• Demonstrated program development skills and the ability to identify gaps/needs and plan programs/develop services for patients and their families.
• Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills necessary to establish effective partnerships with members of the interdisciplinary team, community agencies and the public.
• Demonstrated Teaching skills, including simulation, virtual, classroom education.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
• Demonstrated ability to organize work, establish and meet priorities and be self-directed.
• Demonstrated initiative and self-direction in pursuing professional development at an advanced level.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
• Demonstrated ability to provide leadership, problem solve, and deal with and/or guide others in resolution of conflict issues.
• Demonstrated ability to provide mentorship and coaching in a clinical setting
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively in an inter-professional environment.
• Computer literacy to operate a computerized patient care information system and skilled in power point for presentations.
• Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
