We are looking for Casual/Relief community support workers on a permanent basis. Once hired as a casual, you may apply for permanent part time or full time positions as long as you meet the qualifications. All full time and part time CSW positions require you have a class 4 driver’s license and access to a vehicle for work with business class insurance. Some positions may require the class 4 to be unrestricted.

The Community Support Worker (CSW) assists clients with their physical, vocational, recreational, social, emotional, and daily life skill development. The CSW supports clients to achieve the greatest degree of independence and quality of life as possible.

Location: Vancouver
Start Date: As soon as possible
Term/Status: Casual
Hourly Wage: $28.25 + 10.2% in lieu of benefits

Requirements/Education/Experience:   

  • Degree or Diploma in area directly related to supporting people with developmental disabilities such as Social Services, Human Services, or Education          
  • 1 - 2 years of experience working with people with developmental disabilities
  • Experience with Dual Diagnosis preferred
  • Must be able to safely support clients in swim & water relaxation in community pools - includes entry into chlorinated water
  • Minimum availability of 3 shifts per week
  • Criminal Record Clearance
  • Medical Clearance
  • Valid First Aid/CPR
  • Class 4 Driver's License OR use of a vehicle for work with business class insurance
  • Satisfactory Driver's Abstract
  • Non-violent Crisis Intervention Certification
  • Demonstrated competency in English written and verbal communication
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Eligible to work in Canada
  • Position involves assisting clients with personal care needs      

Training is provided for: Client personal care & Non-violent Crisis Intervention Certification
