Cabinet Maker Apprentice

Walton’s is a woodworking company specializing in custom commercial and high-end residential cabinetry, built ins, and furniture in the Langley Area. Since 1986 we are dedicated to making our clients visions a reality by producing exceptional yet functional custom millwork.

Job Duties:

-          Read and interpret drawings plus specifications and prepare cut lists alongside lead cabinet maker till confident on own

-          Build, manage and assemble custom millwork, furniture, kitchens and vanities under supervision of lead cabinet maker till confident on own

-          Complete production tasks whilst making efficient use of time, product, and equipment

-          Prepare surfaces for finishing department

-          Assist leader in veneer department on press machines with repetitive productive tasks

-           Assist leader in shipping department to help build crates, aframes, and safely wrap/protect product before loading into 53’ trailers

Education and Experience Requirements:

-          Experience of 1 year is required

-          Certified journeyman or currently in year 2,3, or 4 of schooling is preferred

-          Custom millwork and detailed woodwork experience is preferred but open to apprenticing promising candidate that shows interest in switching from carpentry 

-          No specific education required if experience is met

-          Forklift or first-aid certificate is an asset but not required

Compensation:

$20 - $26 /hour (to be negotiated) plus overtime at statutory rates and incremental raises as per company policy.

Benefits available after 3-month probationary period and include group medical, dental, vision, disability benefits, and if applicable relocation loan.
