The Business Analyst, Medical Imaging provides complex analysis and project support to the Executive Director, Medical Imaging, for special initiatives and analyzes information and statistical data, conducts benchmarking activities, develops, and generates complex queries, prepares and compiles reports and technical documents and utilizes presentation software and tools to support business planning, decision-making and performance management. The role provides support on indicator development for performance measurement and monitoring. The Business Analyst prepares charts and records related to projects, coordinates the distribution of project tracking information and executive reports and plans, coordinates and supports project meetings and working groups. The role works independently and interfaces with PHSA Directors, Managers, Coordinators, and the project team members.

Job Type: Regular Full-Time
Salary Range: $62,239 - $89,469/year. The starting salary for this position would be determined with consideration of the successful candidate's relevant education and experience, and would be in alignment with the provincial compensation reference plan. Salary will be prorated accordingly for part-time roles.

What you'll do
- Conducts complex analysis and research to support planning, performance and outcome measurement for special initiatives and projects through benchmarking, charting, and measurement activities.
- Compiles a variety of confidential information and reports on findings by entering and extracting data from various sources; develops complex queries, manipulates data, and provides analysis and recommendations based on the information.
- Prepares comprehensive reports for both internal and external reporting purposes (e.g., project team, SLT, SET, MOH).
- Ensures the accuracy and confidentiality of information and the integration of information from various sources.
- Prepares and maintains project tracking systems, plans meeting structures and coordinates project meetings, participates on and liaises with various working groups, maintains issue logs, and prepares reports to ensure all stakeholders are informed of the status of the project(s).
- Collaborates on various other initiatives and special projects with clinical areas and other departments such as Decision Support.
- Carries out responsibilities in accordance with health and safety requirements. Immediately reports unsafe situations by notifying supervisor or other appropriate personnel.

Qualifications
- A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to Degree in a related field supplemented by financial and project management courses and three (3) years' recent, related experience in a complex health care environment with progressively more responsible experience in information analysis, research, and benchmarking.
Skills & Knowledge
- Employs expertise in the use of desktop computer applications to create a variety of databases, documents and presentations. Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion and tact with confidential information. Uses strong analytical, financial and research abilities to support decision-making.
- Applies exceptional problem-solving abilities to independently resolve issues and overcome obstacles. Effectively utilizes both verbal and written communication skills when providing advice and information and/or seeking/acquiring information.
- Optimizes departmental effectiveness and contributes to organizational success by applying excellent time management skills to prioritize and complete assignments and schedule activities. Practices diligence and care when maintaining, monitoring, calculating and summarizing data, records, and confidential information.
- Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC (2015) and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019).
- As a strong asset for consideration, we are looking for our successful candidate to have: Knowledge of social, economic, political and historical realities of settler colonialism on Indigenous Peoples and familiarity with addressing Indigenous-specific anti-racism, anti-racism and Indigenous Cultural Safety and foundational documents and legislative commitments (The Declaration Act, the Declaration Action Plan, TRC, IPS, Remembering Keegan, etc.).
