About the BCLDB:
The BC Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB) is one of two branches of government that provide oversight for the beverage alcohol and non-medical cannabis industries in the province. The LDB is responsible for the wholesale distribution of liquor and cannabis and operates the retail brands BCLIQUOR and BC Cannabis Stores.

In Human Resources (HR), we support a large, distributed organization with a range of services from our Talent & Compensation, Organizational Development & Change, Employee Relations and Investigations, Organizational Health and Safety and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion teams. About this role:
The Senior Manager, Talent provides advice and guidance regarding resource management, recruitment services, and workforce administration, consistent with policies and procedures defined by acts, collective agreements and/or LDB executive. This role is responsible for policy and procedure development for recruitment and selection services used within the Branch, and for hiring performed both by the Talent department staff and store managers across all BC Liquor and BC Cannabis stores. The Senior Manager leads a team of HR advisors and administrative support personnel and is responsible for ensuring recruitment services provided to the organization are timely, efficient, and consistent with hiring principles and practices of the BC Public Service.
The Senior Manager plays a critical role in strategic program development, projects and continuous improvements that improve operations and align to the organizational goals and strategies. This role supports LDB senior leadership in designing, developing, and implementing recruitment and resource management strategies and practices to support the strategic goals of the organization.
Special requirements and working conditions include the ability to travel overnight within the Province of British Columbia. A successful completion of a criminal record check is required.

Education and Experience:
- Degree or diploma in human resources, business administration, or a related discipline with three (3) years of recent, related experience* in a human resources leadership or advisory role.
*Recent, related experience must have occurred within the last seven (7) years and include the following:
- Providing recruitment and resource management services to a large, multifaceted organization.
- Leading, supporting, and developing direct and indirect reports within a structured organization, and managing multi-tiered support service teams.
- Effectively consulting with and guiding senior leadership teams in resource management, recruitment, and retention strategies to further the goals of the organization.
- Designing and developing formal recruitment or administrative processes and procedures, preferably within an organization subject to audits relating to recruitment practices.
**Preference may be given to those candidates with the following:
- Experience in a unionized environment.
- Experience with Human Resource Information Systems, PeopleSoft preferred.
