BC Cancer-Surrey seeks an Associate Physician in Medical Oncology to join our team to provide clinical and academic services.

BC Cancer-Surrey, a full service cancer centre that provides service to approximately 3000 new patients per year. On site assets include CT simulation, five linear accelerators and an orthovoltage unit; with cone beam CT, Intensity Modulation, VMAT, SABR, SRS. The centre has collaborative and innovative nursing, physics, dosimetry and therapy staff. BC Cancer-Surrey has a full range of medical oncology, diagnostic and support services.

BC Cancer-Surrey Medical Oncology is committed to excellence in clinical care and focused on developing academic excellence in a provincial cancer care environment. The BC Cancer's population-based model and resultant databases provide outstanding opportunities for outcome-based research. The Surrey Centre participates actively in several clinical trials groups. The successful candidate will be part of a collaborative care team committed to excellence, to participate in clinical, research, administrative and educational activities.

Surrey is located 30 kilometres from downtown Vancouver and offers ready access to all the recreational and cultural activities that the Greater Vancouver area has to offer.

Applicants come with the ability to perform within the scope of Associate Physician duties and responsibilities. Applicants are able to interact, and adapt effectively with other professionals in complex, dynamic situations. Ability to communicate and collaborate with families about health findings, diagnosis, treatment, prognosis and follow up. Applicants bring excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work within a team and the ability to document in accordance with CPSBC and organizational standards, policies, and guidelines. Applicants demonstrate the ability to perform assessments and examinations. Within this responsibility, the successful candidate will work actively to encourage a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and respect within the entire healthcare team.

Applicants will have a medical degree, and a minimum of 2 years' training in a postgraduate medical training program, ideally with internal medicine/oncology experience. Candidates must be eligible for licensure in British Columbia in the Associate Physician Class and will be assigned a supervisor.

Remuneration will be based on experience and in accordance with the PHSA compensation framework for Associate Physicians.

Start date is as soon as possible.
