The Role
The Bilingual Registry Technician plays a pivotal role in safeguarding fairness and accessibility in the justice system. This position offers the opportunity to evaluate and approve critical court applications, manage key court processes, and ensure compliance with legislation, all while providing clear guidance to the public and legal professionals. Fluency in French and English is essential, as you will serve diverse communities across the province, making a meaningful impact through equitable and accessible legal services.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Secondary school graduation or equivalent (e.g. GED).
- 2 years recent experience working in a legal environment, or 1 year experience working in Court Administration.
- Experience using computers and software programs (e.g. Windows, MS Word, Excel).
- Must be able to qualify for signing authority as a Deputy District Registrar within 6 months of appointment to the position.
- Must be fluent in speaking, writing, and reading French and English.
- Typing speed of 40 wpm.
Preference may be given to applicants with:
- Signing authority as a Deputy District Registrar.
- 1 year of experience working in Court Administration.
- Experience working in Civil Programs.
- Experience working in Civil Electronic Information System (CEIS).
Combinations of relevant experience, education and/or training may result in an applicant meeting these requirements.
Proviso/Willingness Statements:
- Must be willing to complete relevant training programs.
- May be required to travel, including travel in adverse weather conditions and work in other geographical areas, including circuit court locations. Must have reliable transportation and/or be willing to travel with others.
- May be required to work flexible hours on short notice, including varied shifts.
- May be required to work overtime on short notice.
- May be required to work in other areas of Court Services Branch.
