Job Description

Horizon Recruitment Inc. is currently seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist for a large multinational client that supports a wide range of clients from mining to food & beverage. This role involves providing support to the Accounts Payable department, focusing on more advanced tasks for both Canada and the USA. Our client is looking for someone with the potential to be a leader on the team and provide guidance and coordination during period end.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices and payments.
  • Collaborate with various individuals and departments to collect vendor invoices, packing slips, and statements in line with established protocols and deadlines.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and prepayments, addressing any discrepancies.
  • Organize and classify invoices and related documents for entry into the payables system.
  • Prepare scheduled cheque runs and issue manual cheques as needed.
  • Provide backup, training, and support to the Accounts Payable team.
  • Assist in documenting Accounts Payable procedures and systems.
  • Recommend enhancements to Accounts Payable processes and systems.
  • Investigate and resolve any irregularities or inquiries.
  • Monitor the accounts payable email inbox and respond to vendor and internal inquiries.
  • Undertake additional tasks as assigned by the department manager.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of AP experience in a large multi-currency organization.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • High attention to detail and diligence.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Word.
  • Familiarity with computerized accounting systems.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet tight deadlines while managing multiple priorities.
  • Flexibility to assist in other areas within the Finance department.
  • Positive attitude and a strong team-oriented work ethic.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.

Rewards:

  • $55k-60k
